Tim Amos

Tim Amos was born and raised in Mechanicsville.  He worked in engineering for 23 years before opening his own construction company.  TAW Construction provides design builds for clients who would like to construct indoor sports facilities and office warehouses.  He also uses his construction skills on mission projects most recently working on 12 homes in North Carolina damaged by hurricane Florence.  He has been to Honduras, Panama, Standing Rock Reservation in South Dakota and several trips to Niger, Africa.  Tim considers his greatest achievement to be helping to construct a 20,000 square foot church, 1st Assembly of God, in Niger, Africa.  Tim is a member and past president of Mechanicsville Rotary, a member of Synapse Hub 32 at Cobb-Imprint, and a former board member of Atlee Little League.  In his spare time, he has coached softball, basketball, and soccer in Hanover County.

Upon accepting the nomination as a Hanover HERO, Tim said he accepted this honor because he finds joy in giving back to others and he has always wanted to participate with Hanover Habitat for Humanity.

Tim graduated from Lee-Davis High School and the Richmond Trade School.  He is married to Tracey Amos, a nurse working for Hanover County Public Schools.  They have four children: Ashley, Aaron, Emily and Jillian.
