All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
It is unlawful to leave items after-hours. Leaving donations or trash often results in additional disposal costs and fewer funds for Habitat’s mission.
We offer Saturday donation pickups for residents of Hanover and King William Counties! Please see our list of accepted items below. Please be advised that items with stains, rips, tears, cracks, pet hair, or odors cannot be accepted. Our driver has the right to refuse donations based on their condition. Items for donation must be accessible outside the home on the first floor, or in a garage. The donor or someone representing them must be present at the time of pick up.
How to donate your items for pickup:
- Call the store to be scheduled: (804-569-6226).
- Once you are on our schedule, a store representative will call to confirm your donation pickup on the day prior to the pickup.
- On the day of your pickup, a driver will call you to confirm that there is someone on-site. The call will come from a number you may not recognize. Not answering that call may result in your donation not being picked up.
- Donation receipts are available for tax purposes! Just ask our driver to prepare one for you.
Thank you for considering donating to us!

Recycling Program
Recycling Program
Started in 1999, Habitat’s volunteer-led recycling program collects cans and disassembles broken appliances and fixtures to retrieve recyclable metals. Metals are turned into cash and provides an additional income stream for the affiliate.
In 2021, this program diverted 721,514 lbs from landfills and raised $24,500 in recycling alone.

Drop off your cans or other small metals at the following locations:
