Keedra grew up in Hanover County and became a mother at the age (19). Once her son was born, she knew she needed to do whatever had to be done to make sure he was taken care of. Damien is now fourteen and Keedra wants to finally buy them a home so that they can say goodbye to their apartment! She says having a home means “that my son will have somewhere to live if something were to ever happen to me.”

She had been looking for a home on the market but couldn’t find anything in her price range. She saw a post from a former schoolmate about their Habitat home and she decided to apply. Keedra works at a local bank and is a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church. She teaches vacation bible school, is apart of the young adult ministry, and on the praise dance team! Damien plays football and wants to get his CDL license to become a truck driver.

Keedra’s favorite bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you, and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. She wants others to know that “if I can do it, you can too!”
