Solar Project on Ashcake Rd.
We completed our first solar project on May 20, 2022 on one of our Habitat homes built in 2011. This project was fully funded by GiveSolar, a nonprofit social impact organization that assists other nonprofits and low-income homeowners to gain access to solar energy. They are partnering with Habitat affiliates across Virginia for first-time solar

Recycle for Good

Volunteer Appreciation Week – Midweek Crew
Huge shout out to our midweek crew out on construction. These dedicated volunteers come out every Thursday to keep our construction moving. During the pandemic they built the majority of our neighborhood of 6 homes in Ashland. They are truly a blessing to Habitat and the homeowners purchasing our affordable homes.
Volunteer Appreciation Week – Recycling Crew
It's National Volunteer Appreciation Week and we want to start by sending a huge thank you to our recycling volunteers! This group of 12 come every week to disassemble appliances and fixtures to collect and sort the metals. They also go around and collect aluminum cans at specific locations.
