Hanover and King William Habitat for Humanity will be developing 1.5 acres in Ashland at the corner of South Taylor Street and Arlington Street into a five-lot affordable home development. Habitat affectionately calls it their STAR project, short for S. Taylor and Arlington streets.

This project will cost approximately $1.6 million to develop five affordable homes due to the infrastructure costs, street-level work, and the cost of home construction. To date, we have raised $912,000. We still need to raise $688,000 to make this project a reality.

Our goal is to start the infrastructure work in the fall of 2023 and home construction in early 2024. To make this happen, we need your help.

We have identified the families that will live in these homes, which include 6 adults and 14 children.

Please consider becoming a financial supporter of this project and of our mission. No donation is too small to help offset these costs and help build a community member or family a home with an affordable mortgage.

Various sponsorship levels are available:
